About

The idea for Lunching In Lobbies came from a habit I've had for some time now.  See, I have a love for hotels; boutique hotels mostly, but larger ones work too.  I adore sitting in lobbies, usually in the middle of the day after I've explored the city a bit.  I typically slip into the lobby bar, order a Grey Goose Cosmopolitan (yes, always Grey Goose) and suck in the atmosphere.  I love the vibe a good hotel gives off.  I also love really good service and food but without the pretense...you see, I don't dress the part.  Because I don't, I'm always interested to see how service will present itself to someone like me (wink).  So I thought, wouldn't it be cool to showcase these interesting places, their lobbies, bars and restaurants, food and libations and maybe share what it's like to stay in them a night or two.

And so became the birth of the blog.

I've been choosing hotels for retail product lines for many years by profession.  As a result I'm a self described hotel snob.  But not in a typical sense, or the one you envision.  No, I'm not "model quality" and, as I've mentioned, don't "dress the part".  But I'm also not demanding nor do I possess any sense of entitlement.  I'm just a patron in a local establishment looking to see how it measures up to normal people.  Oh, and by the way, I sorta know my way around a hotel and it's inner workings.

So, this blog is designed for me to share with you the inside skinny and my experiences of some really, really cool places.  But, to keep it real, you should know;  I always pay for my consumption out of pocket and the only prescheduling I do is to make a room reservation.

Hope you enjoy my stay.
