Is it me? No, it's ME London

M`arconi, the super chic lobby bar at ME London

It's not an accident that my first blog post on Lunching In Lobbies is about ME London. I LOVE ME London. I truly believe I have an addiction to this place. Buckle up, I've got a lot to gush about here.

I've spent a pretty decent amount of time, over multiple visits (ok, don't judge but multiple means a lot) in Marconi, the lobby bar, enjoying my fair share of Grey Goose Cosmopolitans. They're top notch here as is the decor, the vibe and the service. The wifi's free and strong too. Ok so, is it bad that a bartender that served me here in the spring of 2018 remembered me and my drink in the fall of 2019? The fact that there's been several (and by several I mean a lot) visits here between those dates proves it isn't an understatement to say I was shocked. It's really hard to shock me. Impressive Mr. Bartender Man...impressive.

Marconi however, isn't the only treat ME London has in store for you. The rooftop bar, Radio, really ROCKS! Not only does it serve up commanding views of the London skyline but it's chock full of pretty people, great music and another awesome vibe. The service level continues to impress here as well. Oh, and those cosmos...let us not forget.

It's not just about the alcohol and views at this hotel. Make a plan and a reservation for dinner at STK, the uber cool steakhouse just off the lobby (btw, they're open for lunch too). The menu focuses on the finest 28 day custom aged USDA prime beef. I can attest, as a carnivore, don't skip the filet; one of the best I've ever had. A side of the sweet corn pudding is a "must have" addition to whatever you order and, of course, the drinks flow nicely here too.

Staying at ME London is a really good idea. It's location is ideal - on the Strand close to Covent Garden, in the theater district and at the end of Waterloo Bridge. The bridge that provides my absolute favorite view of the Capital. I always find myself singing the Kinks song "Waterloo Sunset" in my head from that vantage point.

The lobby of ME London is on a whole other level, (for real, it's on another floor) and boasts amazing soaring architecture that provides plenty of space to set the mood. Click on the video below...it speaks louder than any words I can write to describe it.

The vibe is palpable.

The rooms here are as quiet as you want them to be...no street noise that I could hear. Super cool, incredibly well appointed and complete with mood lighting. Even the lowest priced option, an Aura Guestroom, includes a luxurious featherbed, fine bed linens, an amazing rain shower and really nice bath amenities. There's a laptop size safe with interior power source (who doesn't love to charge their devices in the safe?) and a mini bar that offers something for mind, body & soul. To round out the fancy stuff, there's a desk with international power sockets because who ever has enough adapters to plug in all of our stuff?

Take it from this blue jean clad, converse wearing, short girl...there isn't any pretense or conceit at this hotel. ME London offers up every cool vibe you could want; whether you go for a drink, dinner, an evening on the rooftop or a couple of days. It's an awesome experience. The ME London is a destination in itself, but as luck would have it, London is just outside in all her glory.
